The Wisconsin Highland Games in Waukesha on September 2, our final games of the season, saw a goodly number of solo competitors in action, along with performances from the Grade 4 and Grade 5 bands.

Solo Piping:
In Senior Novice March it was another 1-2 for Tunes of Glory with John Adair taking 1st place, and Gene Green claiming 2nd place. This was Gene's first ever medal in this event, and John's first win, so congratulations to both are in order! In the same event Stuart Barr placed 4th. Tom Stanfa and Breffni Shroba also competed, but finished outside the top 6. This was Breffni's first foray into solo competition, so well done, and welcome to the circuit!

In Grade 4 March Tom Brown took 4th place, his first top 6 finish, in a massive field of 25 competitors. Mike Heywood also joined the expanding ranks of the ToG soloists in the same event.

Solo Drumming:
In Grade 4 March snare drumming Kayli Smith added another medal to her fine collection, this time for 2nd place.

Solo Piobaireachd:
In Grade 4 Piobaireachd Stuart Barr took 5th place. John Adair also entered this event for the first time.

Band Competition:
The Grade 4 band continues to improve, taking 6th place this time out for their QMM. The Grade 5 band received some favorable and encouraging comments from the judges on their second performance of the season. Our prospects for next season are looking bright!

Congratulations also to Barry Glicklich (tenor) and Alex Volz (bass) on their first time in the competition circle! Welcome, and well done!
