We all gained more experience as we prepare for the full competition season. We all played well and found some areas needing improvement. We will be striving to polish our competition sets for our first Band Competition in Milwaukee in June 7th.

Tunes of Glory Pipes and Drums - St. Patrick's Day Parade - Naperville, IL

The band marched in 5 St. Patrick's Days events this year adding 2 parades. We marched in Manhattan, IL at the Manhattan Irish Fest, St. Charles, South SIde Irish Parade in Chicago, West Suburban Irish Parade in Naperville, and for the first time, the City of Chicago St. Patrick's Parade. All the parades were a bit chilly this year, but we thoroughly enjoyed the events and hearing the crowds cheer as we played for them.

Thanks to everyone who supports our band and comes out to watch us play.

And the winner is ...
Kayli Smith is 2007 MWPBA Grade 3 MSR Snare Champion Supreme, and has been sponsored to attend Winter Storm by the MWPBA. Gene Green is runner-up Senior Novice C/S. Congratulations to both Kayli and Gene!!
The Competition Season has Concluded
With the Wisconsin Highland Games concluded, this years competition series has ended. The band made great strides this year at Grade IV improving and gaining experience at each event. Over the winter the band will continue to practice together and improve as they strive to prepare for next season. Congratulations to a fine season!

Somonauk Concert
somonauk2007
Somonauk went well today. Mac was a big help and did a great job as MC, Ty did a very nice solo (his last performance) GOOD JOB and good luck at school. Tracey and Rick Gray did a nice duet playing part of the medley together, and our Drum corp did their drum fanfare which was really well received. We were all surprised so see Dan Starr show up. He emailed me yesterday that he possibly would not make it out today due to flooding of the fox river by his place. Low and behold here he came on his bike ready to play. I think this was Rogers second concert and Scott's first. The church Pastor and elders were really pleased we came out.
